Remembering your loved one
The resurrection is a central doctrine of the Christian faith and shapes Christian attitudes and responses to our mortality. Death brings loss, sorrow and grief to all. Yet, in the face of death, Christians affirm with tears and joy the hope of the gospel. Christians do not bear bereavement in isolation, but are sustained by the power of the Spirit and the community of faith. With this in mind, we encourage funerals and memorials to be held in the sanctuary for those who have been an active and vital part of Maxwell Street. In this way, our faith, hope, and love can be given expression in meaningful and real ways which transcend what words alone are able to do. We realize that death is a very difficult time for family members and friends, so we endeavor to comply with the wishes and desires of the bereaved insofar as they are possible and prudent. All requests and questions about funeral and memorial services should be directed to the pastor.
